Comments: Alternated front crawl with back stroke to rest. What would you do differently?: Need more open water swim practice Transition 1
Comments: Race course had two transitions, one was a run from the lake to the transition area about a 1/4 mile. Then we had to change and carry bikes to bike area. The terrain was very rock and thorny, next time I probably need shoes for in between What would you do differently?: Buy water shoes? Bike
Comments: Biking appeared to be the easiest part of the race for me. I need to get clipless pedals. What would you do differently?: Wear tri or bike shorts, and pack extra water. Also change both tubes before the race. Transition 2
What would you do differently?: Stretch a little in transition area. Run
Comments: Need more training in running longer distances. Post race
Warm down: Walked around tri area for a while, drank water/ gatorade, ate pizza What limited your ability to perform faster: Cramps in legs during biking, Side pain in running, and high heart rate. Woke up at 4:45AM, ate toast, yogurt and a peach. On the way drank a small black coffee from McDonalds.
Checked in, got marked up, put bike in transition area, and set out towel, running shoes, shirt , sports bra, glasses and helmet
