Overall Rank = 10/80
Age Group = Clydesdale
Age Group Rank = 1/5
Pre-race routine:

Met up with Robby (bicyclpete), set up transition and took the steeds for a test ride to make sure things were mechanically sound.
Event warmup:

Jumped in the pool and swam a few hundred yards. Was anxious to see how my new 2XU suit felt in the water.
Swim
  • 04m 10s
  • 300 yards
  • 01m 23s / 100 yards
Comments:

Good swim, I was pleased with my time. I had given my estimated time as 4:15, so 4:10 made me very happy. Passed a few people in the pool who had obviously given false 300 times.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing really, I was happy with my swim.
Transition 1
  • 01m 17s
Comments:

Decent run from the pool to transition, apparently I wasnt running as hard as I should have been, Robby made up some time on me as he was seeded right after me and swam about the same time.
What would you do differently?:

Run harder from the swim to transition.
Bike
  • 28m 16s
  • 11 miles
  • 23.35 mile/hr
Comments:

I was pleased with the bike, my split was right where I hoped it would be.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, I was pleased with my bike as well.
Transition 2
  • 00m 30s
Comments:

As I came into transition, the volunteers were both standing in the same spot pointing to where I should go. As I was about to fly by, they finally decided to point me in the correct direction into transition. I gave them a nice tongue lashing as my brakes were jammed on and my rear wheel flew up in the air.
What would you do differently?:

Take a look at the entrance/exit to transition so I can avoid any problems in the future. I should have done that in this race, its probably my fault.
Run
  • 27m 19s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 08m 49s  min/mile
Comments:

My run was garbage, I have not been able to put in the miles necessary to post a good time, so nobody to blame but my injuries. I was in 3rd place overall off the bike, but gave up a few spots on the run. I swear the run was long, from the 3 mile marker to the finish was a lot longer than .1. Just measured it and found 3.33.
What would you do differently?:

Put in more miles and get injured less often
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

Definitely my run

Event comments:

This was a smaller race, so I don't want to get too excited about my finish time/place. We'll see how I end up next month at Ft. De Soto with 1000 people entered.
