  • Comments: There were problems with the timing and the race director said that the first 15 people to finish didn't get accurate times. I finished 16th in order, but I was in the 3rd wave so I knew I had to be higher than that in overall place. I took home 1st place in the military division (#1 of 1...whee!), but later got an e-mail that said that the race director decided to award the top 10 overall instead of just the top 3, so I ended up in 4th place. That makes up for the confusion with the times, but now I'm wondering how they're going to get awards to people who moved up in the age group rankings. If someone already took home the 3rd place AG plaque, but is now 1st in the AG because of the top 10 overall, do they just ask for the plaque back and hand it to the new 3rd place? Do they just make new ones? What happens with my military plaque...I'd gladly exchange it for a 4th place overall one but there was nobody else in the military division to give it to, so what will they do with it.

  • Comments: Buttar really screwed up the overall times. The race director assured everyone at the awards ceremony that while the overall placements were correct, many of the times still needed to be pieced together. My friend was awarded first place in the Novice division... only to find out the day after that she was really 6th! Can you imagine being handed an award saying that you won your division in your very first triathlon only to have it taken away the next day???? Very, very poor stuff on the part of Buttar. They had an obligation to get those results right!

  • Comments: Really nice race, will do this again next year! PS-I thought I'd gotten second (I got a silver medal)...but apparently they messed up and I actually got third, oops!
