  • Comments: In the past I'd give this race a 5. To be honest, since it became a 70.3 it lost A LOT. The Expo, bottom line, sucked. It was great in the past to have different vendors--now only IM shop? Suckage. The post race food was nothing compared to what they've had in the past when HEB was part of it; no fun give aways to hang around for...Endorfun does better without Ironman attached to it. I do hate the swim at Lonestar--never had a good one there, swimming against the current or whatever. Salt water doesn't bother me that much, but don't like this one. Moving to Cali will afford me some different races to do, and that's okay. Done this one in the Quarter Iron, the HIM Aquabike, and the 70.3. Probably won't do it again for a long time.

  • Comments: For the most part the race was good. It was organized and the course was well marked. The few issues I had had to do with the time from of the meetings and check in on Saturday. The manditory meeting was at 12:45 and it was held were the athletes had to be in the sun...this was not a good idea. Then having to wait until 2 pm to check the bikes in made it a long day. Also, the other issue I had was with the race shirts. When I registared it did not indicate if the shirts sizes were mens or womens. This caused many of the female athletes to order a small because usually when it does not indicate m/f it is male sizes. The small shirt was not even and adult small, it was for a small child. And when everyone noticed this they would not exchange the shirts until 7 pm that evening....who wanted to come back at the time...most of us were getting ready for bed at that time.

  • Comments: Pleased with the actual race. Volunteers and spectators were amazing. The one COMPLAINT I have is regarding the race shirt...there was no indication on the registration page regarding shirt sizes. So when I received my packet I got a women's small (which looked more like a child's small) instead of a men's small. So now I don't have a race shirt for my first 70.3. VERY, VERY DISAPPOINTED that this is the case and nobody offered to make it right. It should have been indicated on the race registration page and someone should have offered to make it right or send a new, properly sized shirt.
