  • Comments: Great support in all areas of race- water every 10 miles on bike, tons of water/food on run. Great course/transition area markings. Did, howver, feel mislead on the "flat" run. Race organizers did a great job dealing with the heat. Only wish the steer would have stuck around longer for a picture!

  • Comments: This was a great race!!! It was well organized and very well prepared for the hot and humid conditions that we had on that day. It also made it a lot of fun to do an event with some many people that you know. It was fun and encouraging to see people to cheer on and say hi to out on the run course. That was the one thing that i really liked abiut the run- the loops made it possible to see friends many diferent times! :) The amazing thing (or maybe not so amazing since I walked so much) is that i didn't feel sore at all from this race. It just felt like a training day, and I feel like i could easily do another one this weekend. That is probably due to the fact that i didn't push myself to my full ability. I figure I'll save my racing for the shorter races and just enjoy the exprience of a HIM. Or, then again, maybe someday I'll decide to actually race one. ;) I do know that I'll be doing another HIM! :)

  • Comments: Keith Jordan and his crew do an absolutely amazing job. Many race organizations can't pull off something like this after years of experience in one venue. Endorfun did a world class job and it's their first time in this city. Any race that still has ice at every aid station on the run 7 hours in, with temps in the mid 90's is doing it right. The attention to detail and sheer dedication to athletes *and spectators* is just overwhelming. Everyone involved with putting this race on should be proud of themselves. You did a fantastic job. No one organizes or runs half iron distance triathlon races/festivals better than Keith Jordan and Endorfun Sports. Incredible volunteers. Just incredible. Austin is an awesome city. I just fell in love with the area. Now the nitpicky: I would have appreciated more buoys between the turns on the swim course and the weeds at the beginning were kind of a hassle. That's all I can think of. This race was practically perfect.

  • Comments: I had set a goal to finish in under 6:30 hours and I did that by 7 minutes. I'm proud of my effort and it made me realize with good consistent training CDA is possible. It was so awesome meeting the BTers and cheering each other on. I can't wait to do this one again.

  • Comments: Keith put on an unbelievable event. When you read about what can happen at other events (ahem, Chicago) you realise how hard it is to do these things right. We had lots of volunteers, plenty of drinks & food. Well-marked course. Great entertainment on the course and at the end. Just an all-round brilliant experience.. thank you guys!

  • Comments: The race was extremely well put on. Kudos to endorfunsports for sure. They rival IMNA, actually I think they are better. The volunteers were amazing. They had awesome volunteers at all the aid stations which were well stocked even for us BOPPERS. I would highly reccomend a race put on by this group. I didn't stay for any food. I was kind of depressed about going roughly 1.5 hours slower than my first HIM. I think a huge factor for me was the amount of stress I have had the week coming into this race. Costly computer disaster, office manager/PT quitting, my mom in ICU, having to learn to run a medical practice in 2 weeks, trying to come to terms with the fact that the business is doing horrendously and the consequences of that due to MAPs idiotic business sense. It all left me with no desire to race and no mental game. Its kind of funny because I realized over time reading IM race reports that the 2 places people fall down on race day are nutritionally or mentally. My

  • Comments: Keith and Enforfun pulled off another **fantastic** event. The course was definitely challenging, but one of the best races I've done. I loved the bike course, and the run really forced me to dig deep. I'm thrilled with how I did. Organization, support, supplies, volunteers, atmosphere, food, activities -- it was all top-notch. Having so many BTers around made it even better, and the encouragement and support from them was unbeatable. I don't know if I'll be able to make the trip to Austin every year, but I'm going to try to make it to Longhorn again. This was a Halfmax qualifying event, so the top 25% of each age group qualifies to attend the Halfmax Nationals next year. Looks like I may be in! So who knows, maybe I'll be headed off to St. Louis next year.

  • Comments: Keith and EndorFun really lived up to high expectations after I did Timberman and I had high hopes for this race. Their attentions to all the small details really make a difference. I especially enjoyed the well marked rough spots on the bike course, well-stocked and numerous aid stations on the run, and the Freebird burritos at the finish.

  • Comments: I was hoping for a 45 min swim, 3.5 bike and 2.5 run for something in the 6hr 45 min range or at least under 7hr.. I'll take this though. For my first half and just starting training this year in january I know there is no race day magic that will make me faster I finished in a time that matched my training, learned a lot, got to meet my fellow BTs. This race was fantastic,, after gettting home and reading about the chicago marathon mess, I am so thankfull that this one was so well run. I'm in for lonestar and will hopefully be able to do at least one of Keith races a year for a while.. it was that great

  • Comments: Overall it was a very well organized race. I'm sure it's a huge challenge to organize 2 days of races like this, but it was done wonderfully! To make the race perfect: Just add more buoys in the water and maybe hand off water bottles at the bike aid stations. Otherwise, perfect race! I'd also like to say the volunteers were wonderful. They had to stand in the heat, with no shade to man those aid stations. And to top it off, they had to fight off bees too. They were so nice and helpful though and always had a smile on their face to cheer even us BOPers on. Great race, wonderful venue, perfect execution and organization. Oh and the finishers medal is NICE! I love it!

  • Comments: Can't say enough about this race. Keith Jordan is absolutely the best at putting on a race. No if's, and's, or but's. I'll do this race again and again as long as he continues it. And I'll break 5:30 next year!

  • Comments: Unbelievable event! I started my season with Endorfun at Lonestar (another great race) and finished at Longhorn. These guys know how to do it! There were tons of volunteers and lots of aid stations. There were people cheering everywhere. I cannot think of a better to finish my first season of racing and my first HIM than this race.

  • Comments: This was a great race and a great one to do for my first HIM. I struggled a bit with the training due to the rainy summer and due to the fact that I am also training with Team in Training for my 6th marathon at the Nike Women's Marathon on October 21. Overlapping the HIM and marathon training plans was tough, and coming from more of a running background, I found myself ditching a swim or a bike before I would ditch a run. Overall I am very happy with my results. I didn't have a goal other than finishing and I accomplished that. I have been thinking about doing an IM in the future, so this gave me some perspective about what it will take to get to that point when the time comes.

  • Comments: All I can say is Keith, you put on one hell of a show! Organized, well supported, all the aie stations were well stocked and had ice even at 7 hours. The cold sponges were awesome. The bike course was GREAT. Jard but not impossible. The run, well I could have lived without the hills but I guess what does not kill you makes you stronger! I will be back next year!

  • Comments: I deem this race a huge success because all the of the DFW crew finished and for many of us it was our first HIM. I was initially disappointed with my performance. But after feeling normal and seeing that I was in the top 25% overall and top 33% of my AG, I am totally pleased.

  • Comments: What a fabulous race. I can't imagine a better race to have be my first HIM. I still can't really believe I did a half Ironman. That's crazy. I ran a half marathon after a 1.2 mile swim and a 56 mile bike. I'm officially insane. The race support was unbelievable. TONS of really spirited, enthusiastic volunteers, a highly organized atmosphere, and great post-race festivities. I can't say enough good things about this race.
