  • Comments: this is a fun race, and until recently, one of, if not the only one, that was longer than a 5k. The ECU baseball team volunteers at the aid stations and they have their jerseys on so that is neat. in looking at the official results, just realized that the second place person in our age group is actually 57 yrs old, not 37. Being a small area, we all tend to know each other. I guess that means in my age group I am 2 out of 5. Not much difference. I really care more about the time that the places. You can tell from the results of this race and the one two weeks ago, that this one was not as competetive a field. I am more happy with my race two weeks ago than this one because I was under 7 minutes per mile then, even though I did not place in my age group. After looking at last year's race, I actually was slower this year than last. someone who is a lot smarter/wiser than me will have to tell me what all that means, if anything.
