  • Comments: I was disappointed in the post race party. This was my first stand alone marathon other than running the Flying Pig multiple times. The pig has lots more crowd support and a huge after party. The food and "party" were lacking. The weather was so great and the sky pretty, so it made it all ok. :-)

  • Comments: Only 5 or so minutes late on the start. Not as much crowd support as I saw in Sacramento, but there were people here and there cheering. Lots of water stations and lots of porta potties. They had run out of bananas afterward but my son scrounged one up for me.

  • Comments: Poor parking control at start. Lack of shade at finish. Medical personell were neglecting a runner in the finish chute who showed serious symptoms of confusion and inablity to communicate. She was simply sitting in the sun on the asphalt staring at the ground. Me and some other runners had to get help for her. Scary.

  • Comments: Most stuff seemed to be over by the time I finished. I realize the logistics of putting together a race list this must be close to impossible but I have no desire to run in the race again with the current course setup. It's too bad because I like to support races close to home.

  • Comments: This is a very good smallish race in SoCal. If you get skunked out of PacShore and are looking for a challenging course with good support, consider this one. Be warned, the Course Profile is only accurate at the Mile Markers and does not accurately represent hills and elevations on the course. The peak is just before Mile 23.
