  • Comments: WOW! RR is a fantastic race! The course is flat and trails are gentle and well marked. It's an ideal course for the first timer or someone wanting to PR the 50 or 100-mile distance. If you want elevation or a super-tough course, this isn't the race for you. The group at Tejas Trails does a fantastic job pulling everything together and supporting their participants.

  • Comments: This is a REALLY fun race put on by some great folks. I love all the Tejas Trails races, but this one is especially fun. The Ultra running community in Texas is amazing, unlike any other. I can't wait until next year to do this one again.

  • Comments: Great race. I wish we'd had more time to hang out afterwards and check everything out, but my friend had bailed on the 100 at mile 40, and we were both pretty read to leave.

  • Comments: www.tejastrails.com puts on amazing events in Texas! If you are looking for a well supported event then I highly recommend one of their races! Between my husband and I we have run 4 or 5 now and they have it down pat!

  • Comments: If you're looking to do a serious trail run and want a well organized race in a somewhat forgiving environment, this is the place. The RD is super-experienced, puts on very good event, and has great support. Having trail running clubs staff the aid stations is first class treatment. • Comments: Rocky Raccoon 50 Mile Trail Run Huntsville State Park February 2, 2008 I have wanted to run a 50 miler for some time, but it seemed like something always got in the way like an injury or life. So, here I was this year with things finally seeming to settle down a bit and thought I would try again. I had not done any runs over 31 miles in 6 years with only a few in the 20 mile range since then. And the last one of those had been about 3 years ago. I had been sick a couple of times this past year and most recently had been battling a knee thing from an injury I had sustained years ago. I ended up getting in a few runs in August in the 2-4 mile range and then nothing in September, because of the knee. I started back up again in October with a few 2-5 mile run/walks. I continued to build from this point doing two to three runs a week. I started to crank it up a bit in December and started to throw in long weekend runs. My first run of any distance came on December 8 when I headed down to
