  • Comments: The Hartford Marathon Foundation runs a well oiled machine. They are well organized and their events are damn near flawless. This marathon is mid-sized, not too crowded, and has plenty of aid stations and volunteers. More crowd support than you'd expect too. I would recommend this race to anyone. I have done both the full marathon and the half marathon (same start, different routes).

  • Comments: This was a really well organized event. A lot of volunteers, a TON of participants. Plenty of food, water, refreshments and vendors. Will look to do the half marathon next year.. Who knows..?

  • Comments: Very good race. Very organized. The shirts are hideous, plus they ran out at the expo. It didn't bother me not getting one, because they are so ugly Perfect fall weather. I wouldn't call it a flat course, there are a few rolling hills, and unfortunately, there are several in the lat couple of miles. Lots of volunteers, huge post race spread, although it was an absolute mad house with so many people around. Maybe they could have separate finishers areas for the half nad full, like they do at hte Country Music in Nashville. Overall, a great race, nice staging area in downtown, great organization. Would recommend to anyone trying for a BQ in the fall. It worked for me!

  • Comments: Great event - really enjoyed it. Very well supported and very much geared to the runners - bands and DJ's along the route, lots of spectators, great vibe in the city and Bushnell Park. And beer - did I mention beer?

  • Comments: The Hartford Marathon Foundation put on a great race and had lots of excellent and helpfull volunteers. I even saw a volunteer sprint to get a Half Marathon runner who went in the wrong direction.

  • Comments: good shirts, humongous finisher medals, ok course (for hartford), good organization. Needs more port-o-potties, and it would be super if they could start the half separate from the full or make some corrals.

  • Comments: They ran out of food for the pre-race pasta dinner the night before, and ran out of the good post-race food...and beer! The Hartford fans were great, with lots of people along the way cheering us on and live music every mile or two. I think I lost some reserve energy playing air guitar going by a couple of bands. Thanks to my brother Walt, and sis-in-law Kathy for being there to cheer me on. Thanks to Craigy who came all the way from Montana the weekend before to give me a mental boost. And special thanks to MaryBeth for supporting me throughout the training and the event itself, even when I was whining about the 20-milers.
