  • Comments: Would recommend it. Sorta challenging with the climbs and is very scenic. This year they ran across Deception Pass. Also could see the Olympic mountains while still north of Oak Harbor. Also the out and back to Penn Cove is pretty, although it added some climbs for mile 22.

  • Comments: My ratings only pertain to this year's event. The past two years were much better run and accommodating to the participants. I found a lot of the volunteers to be just warm bodies out on the course. I did not feel as safe from vehicle traffic (certainly no safer than previous years) as I thought we were going to be, for all of the course change hype about not being on the highway. Official numbers are yet to be seen, as the results website listed overall finish by Gun Time, not Chip Time.

  • Comments: I'm getting bored with expos and pre and post race stuff. All I saw was Bananas, water and another table had wheat rolls and a box of oatmeal package with no more hot water in the container. In years past they had all kinds of Natures Path goodies and bags to put it in (that was when I did the Half in 06)(don't remember the full in 05). Just happy to say that I've done two marathons on back to back weekends. Another challenge checked off the list.

  • Comments: This event is small, but continues to grow each year. It is only being limited by the lack of accommodations on the island.
