  • Organised?Yes
  • Events on time?Yes

  • Lots of volunteers to help?Yes
  • Plenty of drink stations?No

  • Post race activities? Below average
  • Overall course based on my ability: Just right

  • Comments: Moderate hills, with generous amount of paved roads, and tough segments of mud and gravel offroad legs. Three legs of canoe-paddling 100 yards each) in a small lake preceded by a "challenge" in which team members had to cross lake in three rafts using only two paddles. I wasn't really in shape for the bike which featured some pretty good hills, but I was consoled somewhat by seeing many others who were also forced to walk bikes up steepest portions. This was my first adventure race and I was pleased with our team's finish. I found this 18 mile adventure race tougher than the two half IMs I've done, and probably on a par with a marathon in terms of fatiuge upon completion. Ten teams posted DNF.

  • Comments: It was wild and wet and muddy! Great organization, volunteers, food, schwag and RD. The rain and mud made this race a real challenge. Took us much longer than we expected, but we had a great time.
