  • Comments: Great race. Everything was pretty relaxed and fun. Location was fantastic. Great views in a few places. Real emphasis on the small-town as there really is just the one street going through. I don't know where all the people come from. For this race I liked that they didn't try to force in a standard distance. Turn-arounds were all at nice places with small loops for both on the bike and at the top of the hill for the run.

  • Comments: Went well, I would suggest people looking to shoot for an Oly. try this race. The distances are up there. It was rough only having trained for the sprint distances.

  • Comments: A few concerns with race: anyone and their brother were allowed into transition area. When I finished unknown non racers where standing by my bike area. Finish line had onlookers at end and my parents couldn't get pictures of Booty and I crossing together. Also lots of pacing and group riding on course - fortunately I'm not that fast so it didn't affect me but it was a dangerous situation. Also, I saw manay people on run course wearing Ipods. Granted this was not a sanctioned USAT event but the rules should be followed in all races regardless to educate it's participants on what is expected of racers at events. I found it odd that the race director would post race email everyone about USAT rules with regards to the bike but not the run. over all though a good race and I'd do it again if I go back to the UP.

  • Comments: I would have liked to see more kayaks in the water for swim support. NOt that I need it but the last race I was at someone, people had issues. Nice small race, nice community event. A bit too trusting as they let tons of specators (said no spectatores but no one stopped them) into the transition area and the camp ground was just beyond the fence - could have been easy to steal a few bikes!
