  • Comments: What can I say? Although I was an ill-prepared NEWBIE I still had fun. I can't wait to do another. I am a little apprehensive about the Tin Man coming up in July, but I will just continue training and see what happens. I thought the race was very well organized. The volunteers were great. The swim course was as close as an open water swim can get to a pool. The entire bike and run course was flat. It was a great introduction for a NEWBIE like me.

  • Comments: Great first time race. Wish it would have stayed a Triathlon instead of a Duathlon.

  • Comments: This is a very organized race and run very effectively considering they have two events going on. If you are doing the sprint be prepared that you are going to be sitting around about 1:45 minutes waiting for your race start. Oh yeah watch out for drafting!!! Try your hardest to be three bike lengths away, I guess brake if you have too! (my race time is posted without the 2 minute penalty)

  • Comments: The timing system was not accurate. I supposedly swam 13:34??? biked 39:29, and ran 31:42 with an overall time of 1:42:17.

  • Comments: There is no way I could have done the Olympic distance. I felt myself getting short of breath towards the end of the swim. The bike was fine, but felt it immediately on the run and my HR went above 160 and stayed there the entire run. The only way I could bring it down was to walk at the water stations. I think I did the best I could have done given the conditions.

  • Comments: This was an awesome race (aside from the run which had nothing to do with the race itself). It was well organized and very nice to participate in. I plan to compete in this event again. Traveling to Hawaii wasn't horrible.
