  • Comments: Always love the SummerSizzler as a laid back, stress free environment that the family can come to. Due to the looped course, the family doesn't get too bored and gets to the see the racers frequently, which is cool

  • Comments: I ended up taking 7th OA, 2nd AG Derek took 23rd OA, and 2nd in Clydes Scott took 35th OA AJ took 1st OA McQ took 3rd OA Solid overall day. It was not the preformance that I wanted, but I will take it. The good news was that I had less than 24 hours before the next race, so I could give it another go on Sunday.

  • Comments: Small race. Shortened bike distance due to road construction...... That was not too good, I needed a true Olympic distance. Beautiful place, optimum to make it a nice family vacation.

  • Comments: Small field size was a nice pace, really relaxed atmosphere in an absolutely georgeous location. Great race to have people come cheer you on because of the small race plus you do 2 laps in the swim and run so plenty of opportunity to see you suffer! Perfect weekend getaway from Atlanta. Race Director kept the feel of a small town since he knew a lot of the people, mentioned supporting the local sponsors, etc. Pizza was great! Plan on bringing the family next year to make it a weekend.

  • Comments: Great race! I love the races up there. They are on the smaller side (e.g. 92 people this race), but the competition is stiff. 4th OA 1st place AG (25-29) Since the race was not USAT cert, the USAT AG rules do not apply. Since I am 29, they placed me in the 25-29 AG. I guess it is a moot point, since I was 4th OA I would have won any AG they put me in (OA positions come out of AG's). Solid day, and reminded me how much I love race day!!!

  • Comments: I thought that this race was extremely challenging and I'm glad I did it. I am very interested in competing in it again next year.

  • Comments: I don't mean to rate this race so low and bash it, because I really liked doing this race. It's just that with this level of competition, we need a more organized swim start, and some freakin' timing chips. I'm not really even sure my time was as good as they said it was. That being said, I'll be back next year to have my revenge on the Summer Sizzler.

  • Comments: This is the best race that I have done. Granted, a new PR on the bike, and I felt comfortable the entire race. I also had the most fun doing this race. I will definitely be doing this race again. What a great time!! Try-a-Tri was selling shirts so I bought one that is solid black and says "There is nothing more painful than regret" on the back. This race was a huge confidence builder for the Beast of the East Half-Ironman race on 9/20. Time to train! Thanks to all the volunteers!! Thank you for the water, thank you for the directions, thank you for a wonderful race!!

  • Comments: This is a small town race put on by the local tri club. They do a good job for what they are trying to achieve. There are not as many volunteers or post race activities as other races, and no chips. But the people are nice, the event is laid back, and the bike course is beautiful.

  • Comments: I'm too lazy to give swim/bike/run comments, so you get it all right here. First, my race prep: I rode 42 miles yesterday, including some sprints with the Master's state RR champion (I lost). Then we went over to the Trek store, where they were having a Computrainer 5 minute power challenge; get the highest watt/kg number for 5 minutes, win a prize. I overcooked it trying to keep the 380 watts needed to beat the 140 lb beanpole who was in first place, and lost again. Mental note: wear helium pants to next challenge. Next we went to a party where I drank lots of beer, ate burgers and wings as "carbo-loading". Went home, slept 4 hours, got up at 4 AM to drive to Clermont. No, this was not an "A" race on my schedule... I barely made it to the race in time; I drove in about 20 minutes before scheduled start time. I ran through the check in line, ran the bike into transition as they were calling everyone to the water, and basically dumped my stuff in a pile beside the bike. Ran
