  • Lots of volunteers to help?No
  • Plenty of drink stations?No

  • Post race activities? Average
  • Overall course based on my ability: Just right

  • Comments: I gave this one an average mostly because of the lack of ability to get information. The course is beautiful and well marked so the lack of a lot of volunteers isn't a big drawback. There is no website from which to get information. The only info is what is listed on Active.com. I can't find any listing of race times/ranks. Not a big deal for me because I was just running my run, but this could be a problem for more competative types. Also, as I recall there were aid stations at 2, 5 and 9. Again, I had heard this might be the case (from reading prior years RRs on BT) so I brought my own water. The finish line had finishers medals for the HM, plenty of fruit and water and pancakes for people who could eat pancakes after running 13 miles. I would do this one again because the course was great, but have no other expectations.

  • Post race activities? Good
  • Overall course based on my ability: Just right

  • Comments: The actual course was great, despite the ice/snow/mud. The volunteers were great and the pancake breakfast was great. I would definitely do this one again, but I would encourage the race organizers to actually make contact with the runners by e-mail before and make their website more visible. It was all something of a mystery going in.

  • Overall course based on my ability:

  • Comments: This was a no frills race. The high school kids had pancakes and fruit for us at the finish line. There was a decent amount raised for the medical center. I would have gladly switched out my t-shirt for a port-a-potty somewhere along the course. Otherwise it was perfect for my first half mary. It was small, mostly flat, and you couldn't beat the weather.

  • Overall course based on my ability:

  • Comments: Only 2 aid stations on this course, but you saw them both twice, so about every 3 miles. Poor post race activities. Only pancakes to eat, but no water or gatorade to be seen and no fruit. I had left my jacket tied around a tree at the start and when I went back to get it, it was gone. I was told they collected all the clothing from the race already and were taking it to Runners Roost in Ft. Collins(about a 2 hour drive for me). I can't figure out why they didn't take it to the finish.

  • Comments: Nothing going on after but eating pancakes, which I can't eat so Ted had mine. Awards were gift certs for Runners Roost which was decent. No massage, few booths, no music. But it was a pretty run and a beautiful day after the sun warmed things up a bit. Seemed like a lot of confusion over who actually ran the half since some people bailed and did the 10k instead and didn't tell the race people. Also, hardly anyone stayed to the right of cones, so how far did they run? Maybe it didn't make much difference. Timing chips would have helped, but for $35 I got a cool shirt and a good run w/ nice people. Had fun chatting w/ other runners along the way. Fun to meet Drew, Kathy & Trixie! Yay! Finished in top 34% in my AG, top 47% of all women.
