  • Comments: Fun Race. Beautiful sunny December morning - 20 degrees. My first 5K, so I was anxiously scanning the crowd trying to find some turtles in the crowd of rabbits. Good lord there's some runners here... Where's the old fat guy section?? Coffee & bagel's at registration. Milling around by the pallet fire trying to stay warm and trying not to look nervous. Start in the Frenchtown High School parking lot. At the end of the long exit, 1/2 marathoner's take a right, 5K'rs take a left... stay on the paved walk/bike path. 1.5 miles down the path paralleling the Frenchtown Frontage Road, and back. Keep moving, stay right behind this old lady ahead of me and don't stop. Don't walk, and don't be last. OK, so I can't keep up with this old lady yet.... at least I won't be last. There's the clock - I"m going to make it under 30! Whoo-Hoo! Hey, they give you a bottle of gatorade as you stumble across the finish line? Sweet! :) I made it. I'm a runner. 5K: I was 82 out
