  • Comments: What a great small event! They gave us free picture at the finish! Usually you have to pay $20 for it, that was nice! Also gave away a bunch of raffle prizes - I got a bottle of Hammer gel - can't complain about that :) Volunteers were very cheerful and helpful, people at the finish were super nice and friendly. And of course I qualified for Nationals! Great success overall!

  • Comments: As I was heading out to the water in the morning I kept telling myself, "This is the last time you have to do this. You never every have to do this again. Just get through this triathlon and you don't EVER have to do another one. You don't even have to do Troika; (the half ironman I'm registered for in August)." I was so freaked out that I just could not for the life of me remember WHY I do these things! Now I remember why. I do them because once I couldn't. I was too lazy and too fat. I do them because they scare me and I refuse to let fear keep me from doing something amazing. I do them because they are a way to EXPERIENCE LIFE. I do them because some people can't. I do them because some people who have every excuse to say they can't, do them (like the guy with the prosthetic leg who beat the tri-suit off me). I do them because I love the challenge. And I do them because Ann and Lisa talked me into doing them! So I'll keep doing them. I know I'll be nervous again on the next one,

  • Comments: I love Budu Racing. They are so friendly, helpful and fun. They even give you a free picture of you crossing the finish line. It was wonderful. Unfortunately because I finished so late most of the post race activties had finished. Not their fault obviously. I always walk away from these events with a great sense of achievement and can't wait to do another Budu Event. I recommend them 110%!

  • Comments: LOVED IT! I am so glad I have reached my goal this early in the season. I am going to do another Oly at the end of summer and see how it compares. In between I will be doing more sprints and probably throwing in some long runs to try a half marathon. This particular race was so well organized, and it was so much fun to hang out with the huge BT group!

  • Comments: I missed when the AG awards were handed out while I was doing my cooldown run. When I came back, Bob gave me my 3rd place medal. Wow! My first AG award. It was a 2008 Nationals qualifier, so technically, I guess I can compete at the Nationals in September in Portland. The volunteers at this race are so great, there was a group of girls at one corner of the run who did very motivating cheers! The water station women were so kind and personable. Thank you Moses Lake! I'll be back. Most awesome moment, I went to get some post-race food. The woman at the station asked me how I did, I looked at her and said "Pretty good, I won an award in my age group for the first time ever" and my eyes fell on the dragonfly necklace she was wearing. For my friends that know me, the dragonfly has a very special meaning to me since my sister Nanette passed away. My sister was at my first triathlon ever, and that dragonfly necklace reminded me that she was celebrating with me at my first olympic
