  • Comments: HOLY CRAP!! I GOT HARDWARE!!!!!! :) I was so surprised I got 3rd in Athena! So glad I swallowed my pride and registered athena. There's nothing wrong with admitting you're 5'3", 162lbs as long as you're getting out there getting it done and not making excuses. This likely will be the only hardware I ever get, because I won't be an athena much longer, I've already lost 13 lbs and have been totally inspired to lose more. Mentally, I've never felt better! I haven't been able to wipe the smile off my face since the starting line. How great is all this!!!! I LOVE THIS SPORT!!!! There was nowhere I'd rather have been yesterday. On the whole, Abitaman was a good race. Bike portion seemed a bit long. Didn't like the officials' excuse to eliminate the awards ceremony because of the heat. HEL-LOOO!!! We were just busting our a$$es in that heat! That seemed a pretty bad cop-out. I will definitely be back next year (barring a move out of state)!

  • Comments: Overall a good race. Doing a great job of focusing on the positive aspects of my performance as well as what I need to do to get better for the next race, instead of negative thoughts and comparing myself to others. Was very happy to have actually beat a few of the male competitiors who had a 6-minute lead on me from the swim wave start. That was a good feeling, as well as how good I did on the bike. These were the two things that made me feel strongly for the first time that my hard work and training is really paying off.

  • Comments: BT had a good turnout. The H13's had strong races and Rob probably made my race with the wild bike race!!! He will beat me soon. I met Rugbykid and his wife, I am very impressed with the guts he brings to the race and enjoyed cheering him in. I also met justalittletri and her sister. She was cheering us in at the finish. I can't wait for her to race, she is gonna be good!!! Saw tons of friends and family folks, a great day. Improvement over the last 2 Premier Events. The rocks on the swim were cleaned up, the bike course was not forced, and they had sports drink on the run. Oh, they also got printed results out quick and they give nice plaques. Negatives - too many people in the swim waves and not enough separation of the waves. No post race awards ceremony. They said it was too hot and humid and that was lame. Part of the fun is watching folks get there awards. I hate to admit this but by my watch they screwed up the chip times by 30 seconds for my group and my actual
