  • Comments: Was really pleased to find out I had won the race overall by 1m20 from 2nd and almost 4 minutes from the 3rd place person. Felt good to see results of all the training and effort I'd put in to my weight over the past 14 months. Hard to think I'd gone from 251lbs and not too healthy to 165lbs and winning a triathlon before the end of the following summer. I really enjoyed this race for a pool swim. The bike course although on busier open roads was good and the run was great. After the Canadian race the previous month it seemed better organised and the improved transition security was a welcome addition.

  • Comments: I love Ottawa in the fall so for me it's a good race even though it consists of a lot of loops. Not as boring for hubby/daughter to watch. It was well organized. I find it amusing everyone gets a finisher's medal. Busy photographer too - lots of pics taken - although none are posted yet. And woo hoo! First race I ever placed in!!! (does it matter that I was the only one in my age group???) A blind man participated with the aide of someone. Truly incredible - what courage and determination.

  • Comments: This is the perfect Sprint Tri for those considering to do their first Tri like me. It has been 20 years since I did my last Triathlon in Alberta. Enjoyed the event, enjoyed the swim in the pool and the run through the forest around the Sports Plex. Lots of volunteers to guide everyone and they controlled the traffic well. Look forward to next years events and building a better base.
