  • Comments: It could definitely be better but for a small local race I can't complain. I love the sweatshirt they gave out. A pre race meeting would be beneficial I think just to outline the course and expectations, I saw a lot of people wandering around on the run at times and the start of the race was rather hectic because we didn't know what was going on. 7am start time is ridiculous when it is 45 degrees outside and easily was in the 70's by 9am. Just start a couple hours later and it would be awesome! The post race was pretty lame, step it up with give aways and awards for next year. Overall though I had a lot of fun and was very pleased with my day. I would recommend this race to anyone looking for a late season local triathlon.

  • Comments: Great venue for the olympic distance, is this the only Olympic in Spokane.

  • Comments: For first year they did a bang up job. This is going to become a popular race. State Parks limits them to 400 so it will sell out fast in the future. I will be back. Look at me becoming a FOP racer. Wow! Very, very happy with my race.

  • Comments: This was a fun race and good season-ender. The water is COLD, so I would definitely go with long sleeves and a neoprene cap. Be ready for a grind on the out leg of the bike, and be ready to enjoy the return trip. I loved the trail run course, but I do like to run on trails. This was the inaugural race, and other than an issue with the timing chips and ages it seemed to go very smooth. I would recommend this race, but not if you have doubts about the swim. The current can be a bit of a spirit-breaker if you're not ready for it. Definitely a fun day.
