  • Comments: Coming into this race I was in 4th place for the series. The guys who were in 1st, 2nd, 5th and 6th didn't show up, so I wound up getting the second place award. While my initial goal for the year was to get series hardware for this race, I'd like to have at least beaten someone for it. My second goal for any race I do was introduced to me by Bruce Wacker, 2008 Xterra M60-64 World Champion (in the timberline shelter on Pikes Peak): Beat all the women in my age group. I had success in #2, and missed it this time by 7 seconds. For the series, she got me 3:53:29 to 3:54:52. Would have been 2/5 if I had registered Clyde.
