  • Comments: Fun, unique race. Definitely recommended, and enjoyed this more than just the Alcatraz swims I've done (but I prefer ending in Aquatic Park, as the hotel is then right there).

  • Comments: You really can't beat the views from the bridge or the fact that you just swam from Alcatraz, the "inescapable" prison. Overall since I hardly swam in the last 18 years, I feel very good about completing this race and I might end up doing it again next year.

  • Comments: This was an extremely well organized race. We were told there were 700 racers, but only 533 boarded the ferry, yet everything went off without a hitch through the whole thing. There had to be 50 kayakers, 10 jet skis and several boats, plus Coast Guard on hand watching the swimmers and making sure everyone was safe. I SO recommend doing this race if you're fairly comfortable in open water.
