  • Comments: I was going to rate a 4 because of the wave conditions but OUM had no control over this. I felt the race was very organized, clean and well manned with volunteers.

  • Comments: I heard comments about not having enough lifeguards on the swim, but I didn't notice that myself. I was too focused on getting through the surf.

  • Comments: This was the first time this tri was held so it appeared to go well given that consideration. It was fairly well organized though the opening of the transition area could be been faster once it was opened, especially with the looming storm clouds coming from the west.... This event and the pre-race clinic held two weeks before the race were good experiences for me and I am glad I did them. The swim in Galveston Bay was a new thing for me and was a highlight. The bike and run presented new planned and unplanned challenges that helped me grow and learn from the experience. It was a good first race for the season to build on and improve.

  • Comments: Aaron and the guys did a really nice job with this being the inaugural race. I will do this again next year, probably do the Oly to get to ride a boat and swim the current in.

  • Comments: Before starting this event my goal time was 1hr 30min. So I am very happy with my performance.

  • Comments: What an amazing race! I thought Aaron and the gang did a fantastic job putting together a wonderful inaugural race that I look forward to doing again in the future. I was disappointed that I didn't get a picture on the podium (not sure I'll get a chance ever again), but there's really nothing that can be done about that nasty weather that rolled in. Overall, this was a great start to my first full season of triathlon.
