  • Comments: I finished 60 / 309 for the 1/2 Iron race, which I am really happy with. I finished # 165 / 309 + which was good for me. #36 out of 72 for my age group Male 24 - 39. Tough weekend, I had a really good 1/2 marathon run, but overall was bittersweet since Lisa had to pull out due to her foot injury.

  • Comments: Other than the fact that some aid stations ran out of cups/water (it was too hot for that to go down) the race directors did a great job over the weekend. Lots of food, massage available after every race, and being on time with everything. Damn, that was tough tough tough. I am so amazed at those who actually RACED this thing. I kept thinking on the bike...holy shit...Ryan and Alaina and Marie are RACING! Oy! I am very proud of myself for managing this weekend. I really was scared after the first race tour of the hills Steve took us on of not being able to complete it, doing something stupid and getting hurt, or (gasp) having to walk Fiona up hills at some point. I was very cautious on the downhills, didn't kill myself pace wise (never a problem for me really) and managed a couple pr's on the swim. Considering I slept like crap all weekend, that equals success to me! It was great to be at the awards dinner with Badass Co-ed defending champs Ryan and Alaina, and to see

  • Comments: Congrats to birkierunner for finishing his second TTT solo -- dude is an animal; to cusetri for finishing his first TTT solo as 10th OA (sick!); and to TrishM and rgr375 for finishing their first TTT in prep for IMLP. It was awesome to be around so many good people the entire weekend. And in the end...WE WON the Co-Ed division of the American Triple-T for the second year in a row!!! This is so cool! Last year's total time: 10:50:41 This year's total time: 10:40:25

  • Comments: Great Race!!!....you must try and do this if you like grass roots events! It is HARD...by far toughest course I've been on--makes LP feel flat. the run alone will beat you up all weekend long! What I learned: • I’m fit. • I can recover and back up some solid efforts • Eat, Eat, Eat. I ate tons of food between races on Saturday—I don’t think you can eat too much, within reason. • Overall, I do have a good sense of pacing on feel—don’t be so married to the power meter, focus less on average watts and more on using your watts at the right time. Because of my conservative nature, I am unlikely to blow up based on my gut feel. What I would have done differently: • Paced the AM sat race slightly harder, probably to the same effort as the PM race. • Bring vented helmet to all races. All I had was my aero helmet and I was hot—though I don’t think it effected me much as I was able to run. That said, I would have been more comfy in the vented helmet. • Cooling for the

  • Comments: Great job HFP. Still not sure how you pull this off! If only the park rangers would be a little more supportive about the parking and camping...

  • Comments: HFP rocks! This has to be such a hard race to organize, specifically stocking the aid stations, which are not really easy to access by vehicle during the race. They did a great job and I had a good experience at the race.
