  • Overall course based on my ability: Just right

  • Comments: All in all I am pleased with this but I could have easily done well enough to take third place. Considering I have done very little training I am very satisfied. This is a great place to race. I had a great time.

  • Overall course based on my ability: Too hard

  • Comments: If you didn't see it already, get proficient on your MTB before doing this race. The course is pretty technical, with many rocky sections that require momentum and picking the right line to get through. I had neither.

  • Overall course based on my ability: Too hard

  • Comments: Only reason I rated "too hard" was for the technical MTB and trail running course which I really have never done any of before. Physically (fitness level) I was in good shape and had no endurance issues at all. In fact, I felt good at finish, just couldn't push it as hard as I would have liked because of my ability/skill in MTB and trail runnning. I would say organization of event was "average". Very low key. Start was about 15 minutes late, no chip timing, goody bag was pretty sparse (shirt and a swim cap??!!) for $80 or $90 bucks I would expect a little more (plus they ran out of men's large shirts so had to take XL). Post race buffet looked nice, but I didn't stay because I had to get to son's bball game. Some decent looking water bottles at the prize table which I asked if they were giving them out and the race organizer said, "no these are the age group prizes"- Really?. But overall this was a fun race and a nice change of pace for me by getting to do some MTB and trail running.
