  • Overall course based on my ability: Just right

  • Comments: Overall a great event with ample volunteers and course support. Loved the camaraderie of all the cyclists. The only complaint I have is that the post-race festivities were a little lacking. I would've liked to have received something a little extra for completing the century (maybe century riders get a special medal...when compared to the 55 mile and 25 mile riders).

  • Overall course based on my ability: Too easy

  • Comments: 2nd year riding the century. They moved the start to the main street in the city, which worked better. It eliminated the backup of waves. The expo was also moved to the same street, much more festive. Slight change in the first 15 miles, but no biggie. Winds were intense at the start, but once we turned south, the winds deminished and our pace sped up considerably. Winds picked up as we headed back into town.

  • Comments: There were a lot of cyclist...upward to 10,000 cyclist, not sure how many were riding the century, but it was the most I've ever seen. The Good: Nice flat course, SAGs were well stocked, most cyclist had a great time. The "Not-so-good": It took forever to reach the startline due to the large number of riders. Although it was a 7AM start, I didn't hit the road til 7:45AM. After are wave got on the road, it still took some time before we could actually pick up some speed due to the number of stop lights. The same could be said as we entered back into the city. Due to the fact that it was later in the day as we returned, not only did the stop lights slow us down, but so did the traffic. Also, no Medals or bibs...now what am I going to put on my wall :). Had a huge 20 oz ribeye for dinner as wife and I celbrated Valentines a couple of days early...but hey, why not, especially if the kids aren't on the this trip. Overall, I would do this event again and follow it up with the 1/2 marathon the

  • Comments: This is sort of a Woodstock event, and the weather always seems to be great. There are live bands seemingly everywhere - at sags and the start/finish. The sags are better-stocked than any I've seen. The announcer said they had 10,000 people this year, and the town had an extra-great vibe with all those cyclists.

  • Comments: This is an excellent training race. Well organized and great SAG stations. I will definitely do this again. Good for beginners to advanced.
