  • Comments: Timberman is an awesome weekend. My first goal was to finish the race - I did that; My 2nd goal was to beat last year's time - I did that too. Other goals that I had but didn't make: 3hr bike; 2 hr run; beat last year's swim time; finish under 6 hours. I've gotta work on transitions, I need to look for ways to improve my bike time & I need to tweak my nutrition plan.

  • Comments: Looking past the cold/wet weather this was definitely an awesome event from start to finish. I'm sure it was a massive job to plan and organize something of this magnitude and I think Keith did a fantastic job and we all made the most of some less than ideal conditions. I'll be back at Timberman again.

  • Comments: All the accolades this race receives are well deserved. Anyone with the chance should try to do it. The volunteers were amazing and this was in bad conditions. The course is great. And the RD is the best in the business.

  • Comments: I improved my time from last year by 12 min even though my swim time was slower (rougher conditions and poor navigation) my bike pretty much the same which I am sure I could have improved by AT LEAST 5 min and my run which improved by 12 min (1:37 last year and 1:25 this year) 99% done at low intensity training (Z1-Z2.) Best advice I can give you to improve your running speed: BE PATIENT, work on building your base, be consistent and even though you should work at different intensities avoid spending a lot of time on high intensity training (Z4-Z5) and spent most of your time at Z1, Z2 and Z3. That mix will allow you to do it over and over and reduce your chances of injuries! That and of course having a coach! I have a great relation and communication with him and I trust him 100% even though sometimes I act impatiently. I can’t imagine achieving this level without him. Thanks Kurt!

  • Comments: This race is spectacular. It's put on like no other race I've been to. There are dinners, parties, QA with the top pros, first class expo, and a beautiful course. There is a Timbercamp for your kids while you race or spectate. These guys truly thought of everything! Next year, do this race. I hope you have better weather than we did this year but that didn't spoil my taste for coming back at all.

  • Comments: The event starting late was partly safety due to fog on the lake and partly to allow people who procrastinated and didn't listen to the get there early directions a chance to get in.

  • Comments: Endorfun is simply the best aroound! An awesome event! I feel SO lucky to have this incredible event right in my "backyard"! I didn't hit my stretch goal of sub-5, so I'm frankly a little disapointed, but was in my "acceptable" range. I know what I need to work on, and am confident I can get it figured out. Except for swimming, my fitness level was fine for a half. Looking at the fact this was my first HIM - my 5th triathlon (my first triathlon was less than a year ago) - my first road race since high school was less than 2 years ago - and 3 years ago, I was almost 50 lbs heavier. I guess I should be pleased. Just wish I was... :-) If you read this whole thing - YOU must have a high level of fitness! :-)

  • Comments: Keith Jordan you're my hero! Seriously, though, he really does run the best races, and thinks about EVERYTHING pre race, so that anything that can be under his control (hear that mother nature????) is under his control.

  • Comments: I understand now why Timberman is one of the "must do" races in the country. I think I might make this "A" race number two next season after IMAZ, unless Keith Jordan and EndorFun can get the Colonial Tri set for next year. Everything about this was great. I think this was a step in the right direction. Eagleman has the tough winds, but I think this course was a bit more difficult. Comparing the two side by side, with the proper training and execution I know I can be closer to 5 hours. Right now it's just a matter of time

  • Comments: The culmination of 20 weeks of training. For 5 months I was focused on T-Man. That focus got me through the training. The training got me through the race, comfortably. Yeah, the weather good have been better but really had very little effect on the outcome. It was worse on the spectators, volunteers and post race festivities. In the end you can only control you and that's what I did. This weekend was awesome, meeting BT'ers, having my family w/ me and getting results that exceeded my epectations. I loved this venue and the distance suits me to "T". Finishing at 5:33 makes next year's goal pretty obvious... return to T-Man and go sub 5:30! What an experience.

  • Comments: A PR by less than a minute :-)! Additionally over the weekend I got to meet Sarah Reinertsen and Kate Major - Sarah being one of my real-life heroines and Kate....well who doesn't love Kate? It was one of the highlights of the weekend to get to spend a while with the two of them talking about triathlons and everything else. All of the big names who came to town were eager to talk and meet the age groupers - this is what makes Triathlon so great - you can meet the pros and its no big deal. Again, the Timberman sets the bar by which all races ought to be measured. Despite the difficult weather at the beginning of the race everything went as smoothly as possible. All of the volunteers who worked the race were fantastic as well as the police support. Endorfun has hit another home run and I am willing to bet that 2007 Timberman is sold out in under 60 days this year. A top-notch race. I'll see you here next year!

  • Comments: Started about an hour late, swim conditions were awful. Bike conditions were crumby but tolerable. Really nice swag. Volunteers were cool, wish I could've felt better to enjoy their presence more. Tons of aid stations on the run, that was AWESOME. Felt more like a small local race than an Ironman race.
