Comments: I injured myself the week before this event so I planned on walking it, but once the race started I couldn't contain myself. I paid close attention to the injury sites on my feet to make sure they weren't aggravated - luckily they were fine! I was removing some extra layers as I slowed to a jog on the boardwalk, but caught my toes on an elevated 2x4 and fell. Just as quickly as I went down I got back up and kept going... something to laugh about for the duration of the race. As I was crossing the finish line I couldn't believe the time. I was expecting to finish in about 1:20:00, especially since I walked some to protect my injuries. I went online to see the results and confirm my performance and it was listed as 9km, not the 10km it was supposed to be. Now my time makes more sense, and I still did a great job! My pace would have had me finish at about 1:11:00, 9 minutes quicker than expected. I'm happy with this performance, and the race was good other than the distance error. I would
