  • Comments: Simple mistake by them not getting bike course flaggers at the right intersection. But I'm sure it wouldn't happen again.

  • Comments: Overall the race was good. I think there are some growing pains here. As mentioned by another reviewer maybe revise the start schedule to let the sprint go first. They will be done and off the course so there is less crossover between the Olympic & Sprint. Also, they need a volunteer or even a ranger to not let vehicles entering the day use area come all the way to the bottom of the driveway. This would be normal if a race were not occurring, but this brought a couple vehicles right into the chute for bike in/out. My wife was watching and saw a couple near bike/car collisions as a result. The race is getting big enough that first-come-first-served is no longer adequate for transition. Left to our own devices, we are terrible at bike racking. There was enough rack space for everyone but bikes were too spread out. Even if the racks aren't going to have assigned numbers, then rack spaces should be delineated to allow more people to fit in. There were a couple bikes propped at the ends

  • Comments: Love to see run trails rerouted to avoid all the oncoming runners all day. Also had odd timing for the sprint triathlon start that didn't make sense. Basically made them start swim on the oly lap 2. (So transition and bike course were jammed) Seems real easy to me, start sprint swim wave ahead of oly and they are long gone from transition...?

  • Comments: No big issues with the race itself - especially given the short notice of rescheduling Oly event a day early, I thought they did a good job. Had medals for AG prizes, which I like. Post-race spread was nice, but no massage. Multiple loops got sort of boring. Wouldn't set up my schedule specifically for this race, but would do it again if it fit in to the rest of my season plan. I originally planned on doing Riverstock this weekend, but it was cancelled due to low registration numbers - a shame, because I think it was a better Oly distance event. Two big issues I did have with the race. First, apparently most of the olympic swimmers stood up at the beginning of the second wave in shallow water and took the opportunity to dive forward, which I'm pretty sure is a penalty under USAT rules. Second, I heard from spectators afterwards that apparently the overall winner cut the swim course and was not DQ'd. If I had known it was an option, maybe I would have done it, too. He was fast

  • Comments: The entry fee for this one was cheap ($75), so I didn't expect much. They advertised a "Goodie Bag" as part of your entry fee, but it only contained your tech shirt and a gel packet...not necessarily a lot of swag. Being a small-town venue probably limited the number/amount of sponsors they were able to obtain...but the price was fair for the return.

  • Comments: The organizer had to scramble because a hurricane was forcasted for that night and the next day. The sprint and the olympic were run the same day at the same time. The people were great, but the communication left more to be desired.
