  • Comments: Fantastic for an inaugural race! Expo was great, good prizes, free ice bath and massage were great, post-race food/drink was great (including Muscle Milk). There were a couple rough spots on the bike course near the stadium - crossing RR tracks, etc. Overall great though!

  • Comments: I've had a busy and stressful year. Working two jobs, spending 8 months trying to close on the purchase of a short sale house (Done!) and training for an Ironman. Not to mention spending quality time with my family. Let's just say I haven't been sleeping all that much. So while physically ready for this race, I might have been mentally drained and lacking the drive to win. The night before the race, I decided I was going to put it all out there. I would push myself as hard as I could and would not save anything for the end. No fear. I needed a mental boost before Boulder 70.3 and this race would be it. SWIM: Fast forward to race morning. Lined up in the water, to the far right. All the way in front. When we were given the go, I dove in and swam as hard as I could. I didn't worry if my arms were going to limp on me, I was letting it all hang out. To my surprise, I had only a couple of guys near me and ended up first out of the water in my age group. So far so good. T1:

  • Comments: Awesome event. Hope it becomes a local icon. Volunteers every where you turn. Lots of aid stations and water. Super well organized. Post race party was lots of fun. Event needs to be stretched to 3 days. Day 1 kids tri and expo. Day 2, Oly and Sprint. Day 3, HIM, IM. Has potential to be legendary. Especially if HIM and IM include climbs in the nearby foothills. Racers and Volunteers were all very supportive, friendly, and cheered for everyone. Great atmosphere.
