  • Comments: This is an extremely organized race. But like others have already posted in race reports, between registering at a hotel far from the transition area, having to really stretch out the waves, the general grossness of the Hudson river, and finishing the race over 1 mile from the transition area, there are several logistic problems. It is very cool to race in Manhattan--and having the whole course closed to cars is a great bonus. It will be on my race schedule again next year.

  • Comments: Loved it. They do need more people out on the bike course - lots of flats. Also, there should be a way to have the transitiion areas divided so that the late swim starts don't have to be at the transition area so early in the morning.

  • Comments: Overall it was a well-managed race. I'm glad I did it but probably wouldn't do it again due to the high cost and difficult logistics getting around the city during registration and on race day.

  • Comments: The race was run extremely well. Everything other than the race, however, was not. The finish line was an absolute mess, with 3200 athletes attempting to find their loved ones in a literal sea of humanity. The transition area was a solid 30 minute walk from the finish line, with no transportation offered. Also, 79th and Riverside Park is nto the most convenient location from which to remove a bike, especially as I had to walk mine down to SBR at 58th & 7th. However, the post-race cold towel massage and abundant Cytomax was a godsend. The race was good overall, but I will think twice about entering next year, just due to the logistical hassle of schlepping all over Manhattan after a hard day's race.

  • Comments: The race was very well organized. Race expo was small, but wasn't expecting too much anyway. I think they do a great job considering all they must go through with the race being so spread out over the city. Definetly on my consider list for races to do next year!

  • Comments: It is really fun to race in NYC. The only downside is that everything is so far apart. It is a real effort to get your gear from the hotel to transition and vice versa. The finish line was also a few miles from transition. Overall it was an awesome experience!

  • Comments: I did better than last time but that is due to the wonderful current in the Hudson. My Bike was 2 minutes faster but St A's is a totally flat course so I feel good about that. My run was 4 minutes faster but I kept holdin back until the last mile. I don't think I could have done much better but I definitely could have done better. I actually enjoyed the Biking and the running. I have a ton of work to do on the swimming. All in all I had a ball and i plan on doing it again next year.

  • Comments: Too much going this weekend. I would do this race again but I would keep the family activities to a miniumum prior to the race. Did not get enough sleep and hydration the day before. I did not like how long it took to get the race started. Every one had to be there early to exit the transition at 5:30am but my wave did not start until 7:45am.
