  • Comments: I had a great time--I was not going into this race in the best frame of mind, after having a rather icky week. It was just what I needed. I do think I need to get a race shirt with a rampaging hippo on it though, cause I can guarantee that is EXACTLY what I resembled on the downhills---heavy body, LOUD footfalls, very little chance of slowing down...Except for the smiling, I was doing that, and I don't think hippos smile much. I like this race company, I had heard rave reviews about their races, and I have to agree with them---well done race, great food, medals AND a shirt--and decent prices. The only downfall? Their races are centered around the bay area, which means I have a 1-2 hour drive ahead of me if I am attending them. Oh Yeah, they also give racers free photos--they're all taken by pro volunteers, but we get 'em for free. Now if I could just look good in them!
