  • Comments: My second year at this race and I love it! Living in Western NY, the water is usually not warm enough to start open water swimming. This triathlon has the swim portion in a 50 meter pool and the rest of the race outdoors. It's a great early season race. Last year it was my first triathlon ever. This was a great starter race. I was able to start my race experience without the fear of open water swimming (which I hadn't had a chance to do at that time) and the fear of the dreaded wave starts. People start depending on their 400 meter time. Fastest go first and swimmers are separated by 30 second increments. It's a very nice race!
