  • Comments: The race swag was non-existent. The SLC Marathon ownership changed hands a few months before the race so I knew it'd be bare bones, but it was even worse than that. At packet pickup we got our bib and a tshirt handed to us...no goody bag, no goodies at all. The expo was about 10% of what it usually is. But, I expect next year will be better. The course was well supported--that is the important part.

  • Comments: The race was fun because of friends etc, but will probably be the last time we do this race. The "goody bag" had NOTHING in it except advertising. Not even coupons. The race shirt was an iron on that wasn't centered and the aid stations were average at best. Water and poweraide most of the time, yet I had to fill my own cup more than once! Aid stations by the spectators along the course were better than the race. After party was pretty lame and food was meh. Only thing they did great was the medal.

  • Comments: This was the 5th yr for the marathon in Salt Lake City. I thought it was an ok race. The expo was fairly small but the course was pretty decent, they had lots of volunteers, water stations and some entertainment along the way. The first 3 aid stations were a bit clustered as the volunteers didn't really know how to handle the mass group and there were too few port of pots at the beginning water stations. The race start was a bit crowded as we started under legacy bridge and people were crammed together in the lawn, etc and the pre race music was TERRIBLE. They had some choir out there signing and it was like being in church. It DID NOT pump me up whatsoever, in fact it made me want to hurry and start the race so I didn't have to listen to it. Overall, good race. Nice course, and this time of year in SLC is very pretty. If I didn't have a goal of running one in every state I would probably go back. I wouldn't say it's the best course to try and BQ at though.

  • Comments: This was an outstanding race. If I were planning on repeating a race, I would definitely do SLC again! The people are wonderful. The sites are gorgeous. You can't beat the course support. Seattle needs to take some lessons! Walt Disneyworld is still my favorite, but (don't hate me, Seattle), this is my second favorite. By Far!
