  • Overall course based on my ability:

  • Comments: Race director did not announce that packets could be picked up from 12:00 noon to 8:00pm the day before the race. I called and asked about that start time. That is the only reason I knew to pick up my packet. The packet did not have any information about the pre-race check-in and meeting. I had to call be to get that information.

  • Comments: I had a great time and i can't wait to do it again. Big Spring is next but i am nervous about the open water swim. i am going to drag my father-in-law and his Kayake out to the lake to make sure i don't drown and do a practice run. The bike distance will be ok but i want to check out the hills.

  • Comments: Lots of folks I know, and a few Ironmen. Mike Greer, 70yo Ironman and race director from Lubbock (BSLT) came down to race and we had a chance to visit. Lot's of first timers -and that adds fun and excitement as well. A real good race. Lots of folks I knew and I get to meet a few new triathletes. AND I got 1st in AG! My first first.

  • Comments: YMCA, COM Aquatic, Peyton's Bikes, and The City of Midland all come together to make this event a success. I enjoyed to race and I will do it again. I only planned to finish but now I find that I want a trophy that says I finished. I guess I have to be top three next year.

  • Comments: they had lots of fruit and water/gatoraide as well as Subway sandwiches at the awards ceremony and were ready almost as soon as the last racer finished. Very well organized timing. Course clearly marked. Fun race, and you have time to visit with the other athletes while you wait for your start.

  • Comments: The course is very nice, the park is sceinic - especially with all the rain we've had, and traffic support was very good. The pool was not cold. and they fed us afterwards. Events were on time and everything was well organized. Good race.

  • Comments: This was my first race, and it was well organized. Lots and lots of voluteers, and the trafic control was superb. I've been to lots of other sporting events, and this one showed super orginization and execution. I had a ball, felt safe and welcome. All the bikers passing me were very encouraging - 'twas nice (even though slow)
