• Description: Bonjour! Welcome to the third staging of the Evangeline Oak Duathlon. The duathlon will start and finish beneath the beautiful and romantic Evangeline Oak with the spirits of Evangeline and Gabrielle, on the banks of Bayou Teche, in historic St. Martinville. The 2-mile out and back run course takes you past the steps of historic St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church and meanders through residential neighborhoods. The 10-mile out and back bike course has been improved and takes you over the Bayou Teche, past sugar cane fields, in front of beautiful Levert-St. John Plantation and sugar mill as you bike beneath centuries-old moss-draped live oak trees. The second 2-mile run follows the first and brings participants back to the transition area.
