  For the second year, Stewarts will sponsor the Scottish Road Race Grand Prix series in 2009.
  
  Building on the success of the 2008 series, the 2009 Stewarts Scottish Road Race Grand Prix will see athletes record their best five results from nine events compared to six from ten as in the two previous editions.
  
  The more streamlined competition format should benefit athletes and ensure that high standards of performance are maintained from March through to September.
  
  The total prize pool for 2009 has been set at £6,060 with individuals now down to tenth place being awarded a cash prize. There will be no team scoring competition.
  
  Prize money
  
  1st: £1000 (male and female); £300 (masters)
  2nd: £500 (male and female); £200 (masters)
  3rd: £300 (male and female); £100 (masters)
  4th: £200 (male and female)
  5th: £150 (male and female)
  6th: £100 (male and female)
  7th: £70 (male and female)
  8th: £50 (male and female)
  9th: £40 (male and female)
  10th: £20 (male and female)
  
  Cheques to the top three will be awarded at the scottish athletics Annual Awards Dinner in November.
