• Description: The last big race of the season in the UK, Bala Standard draws hundreds of triathletes year on year, having been the Welsh Championships and twice a World Qualifier as well as a regular European Qualifier. Waves of two-hundred strong set out across the lake with Aran Fawddy in the distance. The bike is very fast as competitors fly down towards Dolgellau on a closed road, out-and-back course. The run follows the same route as the bike, allowing unrivalled access for spectators to cheer their friends and relations. As a celebration of a season's racing, the race is superb, set in a town that really welcomes triathletes.
