I'm not quite half way into my IM training. I just raced a sprint and on Monday I woke up and felt like I'd been drugged! Not sore, just incredibly fatigued.
Questions from suzimmer: Sprint race during Ironman training? I'm not quite half way into my IM training (IMWI). I have several races planned for wetsuit, transition practice etc. For the sprints I did not taper. I did adjust the week slightly, switched my Saturday and Thursday plans so on Thursday I did the 2 hr run and on Saturday I swam 2000 and ran 20. Friday is my normal day off.
On Monday I woke up and felt like I'd been drugged! Not sore, just incredibly fatigued. I decided to listen to my body, rest, no work out, took the dog for a walk. Tuesdays was feeling a bit better so I resumed my regular planned training of 3000 m swim and 50 min run. I was sluggish at first, but was able to pick up the pace and felt pretty good by the end. On Wednesday UGGG SOOO TIRED!!!!! After I saw my kids off to work and school, I went back to bed, slept solidly for 2 hours! I never do that. [.....]
