Triathlon Gear Reviews
Halo Halo Anti-Freeze Headband
Keeps the ears warm on those cold weather outings.

The T6c goes beyond normal Heart Rate monitor. I've heard it called a wrist computer as it will calculate VO2, EPOC and other metrics which can be displayed in real-time on the watch during your workout. These can help you determine if you are working at the appropriate intensity. It costs more, but again, you get what you pay for.

I have about 1800 miles on this bike since 4/10 and have enjoyed everyone of them on this bike. I would definately purchase from Fuji again.

Was a great beginner shoe. Very happy I didn't develop any blisters from wear and they held up to the beating I gave them. Have since changed running shoes only due to issues I developed at the very end of the shoe's life cycle, in which I felt more arch support in a different pair. Otherwise if I have no problems from here on out, I would highly consider getting another pair.

Got a good used trainer for a great price that had a front wheel block so I am thrilled.
Read MoreDe Soto Tri-Shorts
I've been looking for a flagship pair of triathlon training/racing shorts and tried just about everything De Soto makes. First the Forza Riviera shorts in XL...way too small, then the 400-mile shorts in XL...a little too small, finally the regular Forza Tri Shorts in XXL...perfect.
I would note that the sizing chart is WAY off. I'm 6'3", 202-203 and the XLs in both the Forza Riviera and 400-Mile shorts were too small for me. Great exchange policy and Steve from De Soto helped through the whole process. I also picked up some sale sports bras and a tri capri for the wife and she LOVES them.
Speedo Air Seal XR Mirrored Goggles
Overall, they are great goggles and I like them. They aren't perfect though.

I absolutely love this bike and can't wait to ride it in my first triathlon. It will get me to the finish line in no time flat. It's a great bike for the money I spent on it.
Read MoreBuff Headware
Initially seemed like a gimmicky item for the racer who has everything, but this Buff brand headgear may become an essential piece of equipment. Its merits are immediate in frigid weather running, cold/cool weather cycling and for trail running in all seasons.
This item also can have a good fashion appeal for both women and men - especially since it doesn't necessarily look like all the spandex crap we wear!
Continental Ultra Gatorskin
If you ride bad roads or have lots of flats you'll want to have a look. These are like riding on bulletproof tires.

Great heart rate monitor. Highly recommended!

I really like this roller. I use it at least twice a day, and in combination with some hip strengthening exercises I credit it with completely relieving my ITB pain.

This trainer was a gift and so far, I like it. The resistance is just ok. I can get a decent workout on this trainer by changing gears but don't expect to do any big hill simulation. It is quiet enough that I can spin in the living room and not wake the kids with the TV at a moderate level. I am happy as a beginning cyclist.
