"FR405 is a great product. I have come to expect no less from Garmin since I have a long history using their GPS systems on my motorcycle (Zumo is waterproof!) as well as in my car.
As a bonus, the Garmin Connect website is fantastic and adds another dimension to the utilization of the FR405, allowing you to analyze your workout in a number of very useful ways .
Well done Garmin. "mpadd
Ease of use
Very easy after watching the training videos offered on the manufacturer's website.
Quality of Construction
Feels substantial with excellent level of fit and finish.
Fit
Excellent
Comfort
A little bulky but strap is great.
Adjustability
Great. The strap works well for my wrist and the bezel is very easy to operate. Rates '10' on the Cool Factor.
Durability
The bezel is made of a soft material and is easily damaged. I had a small gouge on it after the first 5 minutes. Otherwise it has been great.
Value
Good value at $299 including HR. 4 days after I purchased mine, Garmin offered a $50 rebate. Ugh!
Appearance
It is what it is. Not a looker like other automatics but those are just functional jewelry.
Performance
Performed perfectly. New mac software is great! Love the FR405, and love the MAC
Strengths
HR monitor syncs with unit immediately & every time.
Upload to Garmin Connect is excellent and flawless to date.
It has allowed me to create superior workouts using intervals, time, and distance workouts as well as having cadence on my bike is now a must.
Weakness
Not waterproof.
- 45 people use
- 832 workouts logged
- 23230.79 miles / 2741.08 hours logged
Ease of installation
Excellent. I use a Mac which was a big concern when I purchased the unit. Install was simple and the ANT+ technology has been near-perfect with uploads.
