"It actually came in a set with a riser block, a rubber mat, and a sweat catcher, so I thought it was a nice deal. The one thing is that the tire does seem to squeak quite a bit. Anybody have any advice to offer on that front? Is that something I can fix via tire inflation or anything else like that?"tri_bob

I'm a newbie, and this was my first time setting up a trainer. It wasn't exactly easy, but I'm not sure how much of that was me, and how much was the trainer itself.

It's a trainer, and holds the bike in place - pretty basic. The only thing that's a bit of a bummer is having to adjust the resistance at the unit behind the back wheel itself. I might get the handlebar-mounted unit to remotely do that adjustment.

Seems pretty solid so far.

It actually took quite a bit of monkeying to get it to "feel right," but I really do suspect this had more to do with my lack of experience than anything intrinsic to the trainer.

(3)

I hope that it's just going to take some getting used to, but it definitely feels much different than going out and riding.

It came with a riser block, so that should be OK. I have to admit that I'm not feeling much difference in the various tension settings ... maybe something I didn't do right?

(4)

Again, it's a fairly basic trainer, and I haven't had it that long. Seems like it should last a while.

I don't know how to answer this, not being able to do a comparison against less- or more-expensive models. I can saddle up and ride when I can't go outside, so there's that.

Mmm ... battleship gray.

I haven't had to deal with them yet, so I really don't know.

I do work up quite a sweat, so I guess it's working as intended.

Sturdy, basic, I can't see much going wrong with it. So, I should be able to get myself to ride when the weather wouldn't allow it.

I do wish it had come with a way to change resistance while riding. I also wish it were ... spiffier? Well, for that I can pay more later, if need be.
