  • Comments: My shoulder and achilles issues disabled me in a 3 disciplines. However, I always get more out of a race when doing it injured. There is no pressure to go fast, so I get to look around and have fun. It also builds so much more mental strength. That being said, I want to be healthy for my next Ironman, so I can hammer it.

  • Comments: I want to say that the volunteers at this IM are stellar! They all went above and beyond to do whatever an athlete needed. I also highly recommend the Galt House as the hotel to use for this race. Everything within walking distance and the staff is 5 star quality. Our room didn't get cleaned the first two days due to a glitch in a new computer program they are using and they gave us one night free to make up for it.

  • Comments: The volunteers were AMAZING. They were extremely supportive, helpful ,and positive. They even knew when to let me be crazy and back off. If you needed help, they were there. If you didn't, they let you do your crazy race. Seriously, a fantastic race crew all around.

  • Comments: I have mentioned my Family being there for me cheering me on but there were also several others all over the course chasing me down to say hello and give me a boost. Thanks to Pops, Mike & Deanna and Kyle, Jeff & Jason and Aaron, Uncle Tony for popping out of the quietest stretches, Steve & Lisa, Greg and Melissa for the Diet Mountain Dew even though I did not have any and Dax. Harry & Howard at the overpass waterstop and also the Landsharks that littered the course and gave me a boost. My biggest concern for this race was the run and as it turned out it was like a big giant party because of all of you. I had a blast on it despite my pain and discomfort thanks to you guys.

  • Comments: GREAT race. Nutrition was perfect (great improvement from last year) and overall training w/ coach was very beneficial. Cut off 90 mins from louisville last year. doing louisville 2013 for 3x in a row. 3rd time is the charm for kona qualification right?

  • Comments: Several years ago, James, Chris & Pat had a vision for the Tremont Triathlon Team. Without their vision, I would never have entered or finished this Ironman. With 21 T3 athletes on the course, this day was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I also need to thank Kathy Petri who allowed me to ride along on her training plan with her Triathlon Coach (Val Gattis, Victory's Edge Multisport Training). Since December, Kathy kept me accountable to the training plan, and pushed my training further than ever before. Because of this, I rode twice as many miles, swam twice as many miles, and ran more than any single year in the past. ... and yes, I am soooo thankful to God for my health in these "Golden" years. When I was in my 30's and 40's, I never would have imagined that I could still be PR'ing in my 50's. Thank YOU so much!!!!

  • Comments: The finish line is awesome. I finished with a 12:12 so at least I was in the ballpark of my expectation. The heat really challenges your nutrition plan and course management skills. First IM in the bag and ready to ride some MTB for a little while.

  • Comments: This was my first Ironman and I had no idea what to expect. I just went in doing what I practice and not worry about anyone else and that really helped. Especially when I saw so many on the side of the road. The volunteers were awesome!

  • Comments: I do love this race. Even with the tacks, and the bad drivers, I do love love love this city. The volunteers, with the southern hospitality, are amazing. The horses are everywhere, and they even have the buglist from Churchill Downs come play "My Old Kentucky Home" before the race. What can I say, its my heaven. Horses and triathlon!

  • Comments: This was my first IRONMAN and I don't think there is anyway it could have been better. To be there with over 20 teammates and what seemed like 100's of T3 spectators on the course cheering us on it was incredible. Felt good most of the race. Had some lows but many more highs!!!

  • Comments: Absoutely loved this event. So glad I picked it for my first one. The organization and volunteers were top notch. With the amount of volunteers available, I would suggest placing them along the course to watch for the losers that want to disrupt the bike segment. I would recommend this event and definately consider doing it again the future. Congrats to all who finished.

  • Comments: Volunteers were great. Race is great, Krazy Tall Chick and her husband were great, Michael Draughn and his family were great, Rhonda Howard and her family were great, the town was great, Leana, what can I say, wish I had bought you before your husband did, you were great. My family was is and always will be great, especially my wife. She has put up with this crap for 3.5 years and never complained. Now its her time! Above all, my God is great. I am 50 and able to do this because He choose to allow me to. I prayed that Michael and I would be able to be a blessing to someone during the race but it is very clear, I was blessed for 14:34:43, by all of the people He put in my path. Thanks James Daniel for being my coach this year and putting up with it all!

  • Comments: Louisville is a fun city. Ironman did a great job. The volunteers where as good as it gets. A month removed from a DNF this race was more of a Life Lesson for me. I looked fear dead in the eyes, drove 1700 miles round-trip in 5 days, and after 140.6 miles I put my finisher's hat on a new man. And like I did in Lake Placid, I got my finisher's shirt in a size SMALL and gave it to the person who really deserved it. My wife.

  • Comments: The race was definitely organized and the volunteers were amazing. There were a ton on the course and all were very helpful. Each aid station had plenty of everything and the water bottles (even at the last aid station) were cold. In the end, it was a good race. Had the fair share of highs and lows. I know people think doing 3 IMs in the span of 9 months is insane, but I really do love the distance. Looking forward to some downtime (just a little) and some focused training for IM Mont Tremblant in 2013.

  • Comments: Well Louisville certainly lived up to all of the hype...lots of heat and hills. The town itself was quite fun, it was so nice to stay in the host hotel and be able to walk everywhere. The volunteers as usual were AMAZING! All ages were out there helping and I was just so appreciative. While I am not sure I would do this race again, just because I like to try new venues, I would recommend it for sure to anyone that likes a good challenge!

  • Comments: Louisville is a great city and quite beautiful. Aid station support was awesome, and as usual WTC puts on a great event. My only complaint (and probably only because I'm comparing it to other races I've done) is that there is very little community support. Nobody out on the run course (which is almost exclusively through residential areas) other than other athletes cheering sections. When you asked waiters at the restaurants right there at the finish about the race, they knew nothing about it, hotel employees knew nothing about it, etc. Don't get me wrong, they were all very friendly, but it was obvious that they had nothing in common or much interest with the athletes invading their city. Still, it was a great experience...and I loved it.

  • Comments: The volunteers at this race were top notch. I think they averaged like 5 volunteers per racer. Other racers and the community support were very friendly and supportive. I had an amazing FIRST Ironman. It was a very tough course, harsh weather conditions, and boring run but one of the best finish lines around. I keep a smile on my face all day long and kept a positive attitude the entire day. Not once did I ever meet that inner demon that told me I should quit or I will never do this again. Attitude can make or break your race and mine helped me finish in great time. I won't be doing a full Ironman this coming year because I want to spend more time with my wife and one year old daughter but I will definitely be back again soon. On a related note, I made a point to show my wife and daughter that they meant more to me than training these past 7 months. I did all of my training at 4:15am (work from 7-4) and kept my weekend workouts very early in the morning as well. I did 95% of

  • Comments: I loved IM Louisville. The swim start is a bit different but not bad different. Everyone I ran into was friendly, downtown/4th street live area was nice. volunteers were fantastic, etc. I doubt I would stay at the Galt again though. Not a bad place but some small stuff that annoyed me like: no microwaves or refridgerators in the room, issues with wi-fi, way too few (or too slow) elavators..
