  • Comments: This is super fun race, very laid back although full of great athletes and really fun to watch. The scenery is beautiful and I am starting to find things about Superior to appreciate. I think everyone should try this race at least once.

  • Comments: This race is awesome. I had 10 times more fun doing the 5 hour solo than I did last year on a relay team, because I was going going going the whole time. And 5 hours was plenty, that's new this year. Everyone with the race was so nice - Rod Raymond is a hoot and his colleague also did an excellent job. This was an excellent challenge for me and I am so glad I made the trip.

  • Comments: We only had official time for each completed tri. My time estimates are from Barb. I did not use my Garmin but did wear my watch to monitor total time. #1 - 1:23:15 #2 - 1:11:04 #3 - 1:32:39 I left on my last bike leg about 4:25 into the race and would have completed 4 legs with a time in the 5:45-5:50 range w/o the double flat. The bike maintenance guy did change my last flat for me and said it could have been a faulty tube. The hole was in a weird spot on the tube. The little metal squiggly things, I saw a few of them while walking, were likely from the sweeper he said. He said he had run out of tubes, must have changed 10 flats. I would have easily finished 2nd in my AG even with only 1 flat and probably with the 2 if I had changed my tube on the 2nd one. Great lesson learned. Each of my completed legs were 4th fastest in the overall standings, so I was doing great until the flat difficulties. This was definitely a different experience. I was happy with my nutrition

  • Comments: Despite my Negative Nelly race report, this is still an awesome event. The RD is great, there was free food for all (including spectators), a DJ and karaoke, a hot tub on site, and other nice goodies. The park is gorgeous, and it's nice to have an event that is a little out of the ordinary. I highly recommend this race to anyone, and I will be back again next year!

  • Comments: Awesome race experience and I thought the RD was excellent. He also raced, so that's pretty impressive as a testament to his organization, team, ,and general cool factor.

  • Comments: Some misc thoughts/notes: - We were well hydrated. Between the two of us, we made many, many trips to the bathroom. Neither of us even drank much of anything on the last time through. - Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches--yummy! - Orange Heed--not so yummy (tastes like baby aspirin) - Some of those solo racers are just machines, particularly the guy that won. He finished the course seven times, and he quit before the 9 hour mark since he had the win solidly in the bag at that point. He easily had time to finish it again if he had wanted to. Incredible. This race was really well done given it was it's first year. The RD is the same guy that does the Brewhouse race (and in my opinion looks like David Lee Roth), so he certainly has plenty of experience, but a new event is usually a little rough at times. This one was pretty darn good overall, and the venue was just beautiful. I highly recommend doing this race if you get the chance. There will surely be many, many more people in it

  • Comments: my splits are guesstimates, since i didn't do splits on my watch, and we were only timed for out total lap (so, one spint course). took a LOT of time in transitions. my overal time was almost exactly 5 hours. this race would get a 5 if it were not for the price and the lack of flexibility with refund/registration transfer. Then again, it does go ALLLLLLL day long...and i had a ton of fun doing it with Kelly (miss 'i'll never do more than a sprint' who then did 3 in ONE DAY!') i'd do it again for sure. didn't go too balls to the wall because i wanted to keep my pace easy both so that i could continue to do laps as needed, and since i knEW I'd have my first roller derby league practice the next day and didn't want DOMS or shin splints. today - i can tell i did something, but am really not that sore. we were 3/5 for the female 2-person team. 9/15 for the 2-person teams (including all female, all male, and co-ed). and 22/31 for teams in general (including 2-person and 3-person). 30/59
