  • Comments: I love the venue. I race a cyclocross event there in the fall and facilities are well set-up for these. Full results at: http://www.plattsys.com/results/res2008/wt0805.htm

  • Comments: I loved this race. I have to say i'm a bit disappointed in my overall standings. However, going into the race i pretty much figured this is the time i would finish in (actually figured higher if we were to have swam). I was really overly anxious and felt unprepared for the race. The thunder storms and uncertainty of swimming vs. running really had me not knowing what to do. Set up the transition and let my stuff get all wet, wait and see if it stops. Overall i was very confused, much more than i had to be. It was really a very low key simple race. Chip and a number (no running number, no helment number). I think I'm overpreparing and it's confusing me. Making too many decisions at the race. That being said, i should have brought an umbrella and some large plastic garbage bags. Then i could have gotten setup in the rain. I'm thinking my transition times are what slowed me down, that plus the two stops (gloves & tree) on the bike, because i passed a lot of people on the bike trail, but

  • Comments: Delayed by thunder but responsibly handled. Still no wave starts on the swim. We need to push for this.

  • Comments: They've gone to plattsys chip timing this year which is great. Once the wave starts are in it will be even better. Always a fun, low key training race like tri used to be.

  • Comments: If after a race you say "Next time I need to try this" then this race series is the place to try stuff each week in a low key setting to see how it works and get instant feedback. Field size varies between 100-125 each week. Everyone starts together on the swim (no waves).

  • Comments: This race has a great casual summer vibe - it's a training race - and there's a good mix of people and a nice relaxed - go as fast or as slow as you wish feeling. 2 racers had birthdays and one brought cookies for everyone and one brought popsicles for everybody for post-race. Also met Kristen and Brett who organize the races at Lake Compounce - they have a sprint tri Sept 23rd that I'd like to do. I had read comments about Lake T being crowded and there were at least 10-15 first time folks here at this race and wondered if maybe some of the Lake T'ers came here in stead. Field was maybe 120?
