Comments: Okay...this is pretty much the coolest race going. I entered the race because I accidentally saw a sign for it just three days before the start. I had no idea what I was getting into. Having said that, seeing how far (or if) a person can carry their carcass over a sprint triathlon course over 24 hours is an unbelievable experience. To do it solo, with no support, added another layer of independence and challenge. At the end of the day, I finished in second place for solo racing men overall, behind a pretty incredible professional triathlete. I just can't do any better than that, and this experience will remain one of my life's great highlights. I can't thank Ian and the race volunteers enough for making this possible. Comments: The race was excellent. Ian and his crew are still working out some of the kinks but they really did do an excellent job in putting the race together. For example, there was plenty of fluids, gels and food available. All of the volunteers were extremely nice and helpful. The turnarounds on the both the bike and run were fully stocked and had port-a-potties (which I used more than once despite the short distance from the transition area). Awards and prizes went 3 deep in every category and Ian was around and accessible for questions the weeks leading up to the race and throughout the race. It was a great experience.
