  • Comments: Los Locos Triathlon Team does a great job with this event. Great volunteer support throughout the race. This is a fun duathlon. I like the new race date at the beginning of the tri season. Ideal race conditions this morning, unseasonably cool weather, sunny skies and no wind during the race. I thought this Du lived up to its billing as "the perfect tune-up for your triathlon season." The race exploited my weaknesses on the bike and making efficient transitions. I left this race motivated to do more work on the bike and more transition practice between now and my next tri - Memphis in May Oly. One of my big goals the next time that I do this race is to finish the bike segment without a mishap.

  • Comments: I placed 2nd in the Clydesdale division. First time I have ever placed in a multisport race. It helped that there were only 6 people in my division. Very pleased overall for the first race of the season.

  • Comments: This was my first duathlon and last multi-sport event of a short 09 tri season for me. Aside from my bike wreck, I'm happy with my overall performance. This was one of my better events dealing with diabetes. Blood sugar was 279 mg/dl at the start and a 162 mg/dl at the finish. I disconnected my insulin pump for the duration of my race and made a low insulin correction .5u when I restarted the pump after I finished. The weather was great with sunny skies and mild temperatures, course support and volunteers were strong and there was a good turnout for the race. I look forward to doing this event again and improving my time next year.

  • Comments: 2nd time I have completed this race. It is a good, fun race and more spectator friendly than any I have done this year. One of the races I look forward to. It has grown in size and the times are getting alot faster.
