  • Comments: I improved my time by 14 minutes over last year and increased my place by 23 spots. I think I may have actually got 33rd because there is a guy ahead of be with a 51 minute HIM which is obviously wrong. I am very happy with this race, but still left with the thought that I still have a lot of room for improvement. My bike was only a few minutes fast than last year, but the course conditions were harder with the wind. The run was way better than last year and I think it speaks to how smart I was riding my bike. Temperatures were perfect in the low 70's, so I didn't have to deal with any heat at all which was great. My body felt 10 times better than last year. I was completely trashed last year and felt good this year. I am shooting for sub 5 in Boulder this August and I need to get my bike faster to do this.

  • Comments: Never in my worst case scenarios did I see myself not completing the swim before cutoff. I still know I could have finished if not for the inefficient swim style I resorted to. I will be back. I know I can do this swim and will continue to work to make myself a stronger open water swimmer.

  • Comments: This was a great event! Very well organized, with fantastic volunteers and spectators. Running through the campground, we encountered lots of wonderful folks out there supporting the athletes. My one criticism would be that all of the vendors (aside from the Ironman tent and the food vendor) apparently packed up Saturday evening, so there was very little for spectators in the "village" to do during the race Sunday. Given the secluded nature of the race site, this made the event a little (more) boring for family & friends.

  • Comments: This is my favorite race, however they need to figure out the water stations on the bike. DO NOT GIVE OUT WATER BOTTLES THAT HAVE NO CAPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comments: Doing an official IRONMAN event is no different than any other race the same distance just more hype.

  • Comments: The race itself was put on well, with plenty of volunteers. Spectator-friendly venue. Camping in park is definitely the way to go, very convenient. Having IronKids on Saturday makes this a family-friendly event. I would definitely return for this one. My race could have been better - swim could have gone a little better, bike might have been improved with wheels and after coming out of the water in better shape. The run is actually an improvement from previous HIMs, especially with the hill x2. But the goal was to finish vertically, and that was accomplished. So I will take what I learned from this into the IMFL journey.

  • Comments: This is a great race, much much larger than my previous triathlons. Organizationally it was top-notch although I have no other 70.3 or larger event to compare it to. There were plenty of volunteers and the course is fantastic. A lot of spectators lining the path through the campgrounds. Makes a big difference, especially for those who had family and friends in there. Wow, what a great job Ryan Robinson and crew did. Will definitely do next year and will probably ask some family and friends to come visit so they can camp out and cheer everyone on

  • Comments: I wish I could take this swim and venue, Augusta's bike course, and New Orleans' run and post race party. That would be an awesome 70.3. Camping was a cool experience and if my husband and I haven't started a family by next year, I will definitely be back! (or I may be the pregnant person racing). I will definitely bring my own adult beverages next year.

  • Comments: My first WTC event. The organization and support is unreal. The venue at IMKS is great for all disciplines. The wind caused the conditions to be tough, but that could happen anywhere. I will very likely return many times to this event.

  • Comments: Well organized. Outstanding volunteers. I liked the decision at the swim start to change the time gap in between waves from 4 to 3 minutes. If thunderstorms had become a factor later in the day this may have proved to be a good move - at least a proactive one.

  • Comments: Didn't really know what to expect from this one. The run training I put in over the winter was a huge help. 25 minute HIM PR!!

  • Comments: I've done this race every year it's been around... a wonderful event in every way. Camping is a great option for both cost and convenience. The course is beautiful with plenty of aid stations (with ice!). My only complaint is the post race food (pulled pork sandwiches and chips... meh). I'll be back next year!

  • Comments: I had lots of fun on this race this year. I kept smiling and encouraging people throughout it. I have no complaints about this one, especially since I set a 54 minutes HIM PR!!
