• Comments: This si my second best race time of four races so far. I think I would have easily been under 28:00 with the hard effort I put out in this race. I focused very hard on picking up speed in areas I had coasted or taken it easier in previous races, including the turnaround and the mile or so return to the main road. I also started to push a bigger gear further out from the finish than before. Unfortunately, I had to slow from 20+ mph to approximately 5 mph to go through a flooded area of the road that was three to six inches deep all the way across the road. I went through the water faster on the return trip as it was easier to see the flow of the current and I threaded my way through the shallower sections.
