Comments: This, like my last tri, would be a perfect first-timers triathlon. For pretty much all the same reasons. Sprint distance, pool swim, fairly easy course, but just challenging enough to make it interesting. Organization was good and post meal food was excellent. Swim was indoor at a very nice aquatics center. Transition to bike was a little sketchy as you had to exit the aquatics center and go down some fairly steep concrete steps. I made it fine, but kept picturing somebody eating it on those steps. Transition area was a pretty crowded and cramped. Was in a huge empty parking lot so it seemed they could have given us more room. Not a big deal though. Bike course was good. Slightly hilly and largely in an unincorporated area with fairly decent concrete roads. There were a few larger cracks and small potholes to look out for, but nothing to be too concerned about as long as you were paying attention. For the most part, it was a fast bike course.
